Good News From The Director
Internet & Wi-Fi Working
As you know, we had some unusual activity on our systems consistent with an attempted security breach Monday, November 25. Out of an abundance of caution, we took our systems offline while an investigation was completed. I’m very pleased to tell you the forensic experts verified today that the preventative systems we have in place worked, and no data was viewed or extracted from our network.
That means we can get back to being fully operational. Our internet and WiFi are back on, and the phones at all three branches are working. You can also come in and renew your library card or get a new library card.
Our public computers are back online and our catalog system is operational.
I want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we went through this challenging time. I am very thankful for our Technology Team, our partners at The Library Network, our very flexible staff and the Library Board for the investments made in our systems and cyber security technology.
The GPPL is a very positive example of how being well prepared, with robust technology systems and security can turn a possibly devastating situation into a very happy ending
